Nia draws movement inspiration from nine distinct forms — and this workshop explores three of them: Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, and Duncan Dance. Gigi opens with a 30-minute exploration of each form: what it is, where it comes from, and how its qualities show up in a Nia class. From there, you move into a 50-minute Nia class where those influences come alive in your body. This is movement education and practice in one.

Part one of a three-workshop series exploring the nine movement forms that inspire Nia.
