The Intelligent Body Series is a four-part Nia workshop experience exploring how stability and mobility work together. You’ll build strength without strain and leave each session with tools you can use in daily life — walking, reaching, standing, lifting, living.
This is not about pushing harder. It’s about moving wiser.
What Is Nia?
Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that blends dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts into one integrated experience. It strengthens your body, sharpens your mind, and supports emotional well-being — all through joyful, expressive movement.
You don’t follow a “perfect” form.

Nia meets you where you are — whether you’re rebuilding strength, maintaining vitality, or simply looking for a new relationship with your body.

Meet Holly Nastasi
From her first Jane Fonda-style aerobics class in 1982 to becoming a leading voice in the Nia® community, Holly Nastasi brings over four decades of movement expertise and wellness leadership.
With a B.S. in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Health Education from UT Austin, Holly’s background spans anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and holistic wellness. But everything changed in 1993 when she attended a transformative session titled “The Motion in Emotion.” That single moment sparked a lifelong journey with Nia.
Holly has taught thousands of Nia classes, opened studios across multiple states, and now brings her energy and passion to The Dance Barre as one of its newest instructors.
