Open Classes Start January 4 in Carbondale
Keep dancing. Build strength. Explore new styles in a supportive, adult-only studio. Classes run weekly. Rotating genres refresh every four weeks. Taught by our local Carbondale instructor team.
Who these classes serve
Newer dancers who want options for success. Instructors offer level-ups and level-downs in every class.
Adults with some prior dance experience or comfort in movement.
If you want a true beginner path, start with the Beginning Ballet Program.
Class Descriptions
Open Ballet (Advanced Beginner)
Refine technique. Improve alignment, strength, and musicality. Class includes barre, center, and across-the-floor work. Not a beginner class. Success options offered for different experience levels. Ideal after our Beginning Ballet Program or for adults returning to ballet.
What to wear: fitted activewear or dancewear, ballet flats or socks.
Strength & Stability (All Levels)
Condition for control. Build strength, balance, and body awareness through targeted exercises for the feet, ankles, calves, and core. Focus on alignment, stability, and mobility to support every style of movement from dance to daily life.
What to wear: comfortable activewear, socks, or bare feet.
Jazz (All Levels)*
Clean lines. Dynamic movement. Across-the-floor combinations and a short combo each week. Focus on coordination, turns, and performance quality. Success options provided to meet you where you are.
What to wear: breathable activewear, jazz shoes or socks.
Contemporary (All Levels)*
Expressive movement rooted in technique. Flow, weight shifts, and phrase work. Floorwork offered with alternatives if you prefer to stay standing. Build control and artistry while exploring musicality.
What to wear: comfortable activewear, bare feet or socks.
Modern (All Levels)*
Grounded technique with an emphasis on shape, release, and floorwork. Explore contraction, head-to-tail connection, and full-body awareness. Move in and out of the floor with control and expression while developing strength, balance, and dynamic phrasing.
What to wear: comfortable activewear, bare feet.
