Adult dance classes need a different type of instructor, and that's what you get at The Dance Barre. Someone who can challenge and encourage you at the same time, who cares about you, is glad to see you, knows where you are going, and where you have been.

Ellen Wilcox

Owner & Director

Ellen Wilcox has been dancing since she was very young. She trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern until the age of 14 when she began to focus solely on ballet. Ellen graduated from Texas A&M with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Dance Science. During her time at A&M, Ellen worked as the Assistant Ballet Director at Center Stage Productions in Bryan. 

After college, Ellen moved to Austin where she trained in and taught Ballroom and Social Dance. 

After having her first son, Oliver, she moved back to Bryan. It was then that she opened a local business called FIT4MOM which offers fitness classes for moms in any stage of their lives. 

In October 2012, their second son, Hudson, was born.

Ellen is excited to bring her varied dance background to The Dance Barre. 

She and her staff are dedicated to offering a high caliber of dance class technique and dance lessons in all ages and levels while sharing their love of dance.

Jessica Lemmons

Jessica Lemmons spent her early life in her hometown of Abilene Texas where she studied dance, and performed with the Chameleon Performing Arts Company (Teri Wilkerson, director and choreographer), and in the Corps du Ballet with Dance Ltd. Studios (Cindy Mundschenk, director and choreographer). 

In 2010 she received her Bachelor’s of Music with an emphasis in vocal performance from Abilene Christian University, where she performed numerous lead and supporting opera roles under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Scarbrough.

Throughout 2012, she studied acting at the State Theatre School in Austin under M. J. Vandivier.

Jessica has also enjoyed working, and performing with The Lyric Stage in Irving, where she was able to utilize her opera, dance, and dramatic backgrounds.

Jessica is excited to be teaching adult dance classes in the Brazos Valley, and helping performers set off on their own dramatic path.

Dominick Oliver

For the past 2 years he has attended classes and danced competitively at MCM Studios in Bryan, and for the past year has taken ballet partnering at Pure Energy Dance Productions.

He is a 2015 cast member of the Houston-based Redemption Color Guard, an independent open class color guard that competes in the Texas Color Guard Circuit and the Winter Guard International Circuit

Dominick Oliver graduated from Bryan High School in 2014. He played tuba in the Viking Band for a year before joining the color guard for his junior and senior years. In color guard, he excelled in dance, flag and weaponry skills.

He was a member of the Bryan High Chorale and Vocal Legacy and was cast for the Bryan High musicals Crazy for You and Wizard of Oz.


Carrie Murawski

She was classically trained in (Vaganova) ballet and (Taylor) modern from the Academy of Ballet Arts in St. Petersburg, FL as well as competitive dance styles from Dancestarz Performance Company.

She is a former corps member of The St. Petersburg Ballet Company and August Motives Contemporary Dance company member.

Carrie also choreographed musicals at her alma mater, St. Petersburg High School. Her favorites are “Once on This Island,” “Sweet Charity,” “Urinetown,” and “Little Mary Sunshine.”

In addition to teaching classes at Pure Energy Dance Productions, Carrie is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication at Texas A&M and choreographs or performs in musicals with The Theatre Company in Bryan Texas. 



Cassidy Barton

Cassidy enjoyed a young adulthood rich with experiences in dance and theater. As an adult, she continues her involvement through teaching Barre at The Dance Barre BCS. She is an advocate for the arts, lover of Downtown Bryan, wife, and mother of 3. Cassidy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and is a certified Barre Above (™) instructor.

Carrie Mitchell

Carrie Mitchell was born and raised in Bryan and is the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2004. She found her way to the dance floor at the age of ten, and she’s been dancing ever since!

Carrie has over ten years of experience in choreographing and teaching dance, and she is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop. She has also choreographed several production numbers for local charity organizations. Her passion for movement led her on a path to obtain several certifications in Zumba, personal training, and health coaching. 

Above all else, Carrie is passionate about the joy, energy, and grace that dance provides, and she is thrilled to share her passion at The Dance Barre.


Pam Evitt O'Connor

Pam graduated from Texas A&M in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.  She has been teaching group exercise classes since 1978.  She has also been teaching a variety of Kinesiology activity classes t Blinn College since 1991.  Bowling, weight training, ab/glutes and yoga to name a few.

Pam teaches water fit for the City of Bryan and volunteers at the Mature Well center teaching aqua yoga.  She belongs to IDEA Health and Fitness and Yoga Alliance.  

She is married to Mike and has 3 children, Keegan, Kylie and Colton.  And two grandchildren, Parker and Berkley.

Jose Antonio Bonilla Delgado

Jose Antonio Bonilla Delgado is in his first year of being an instructor for Pure Energy Productions and The Dance Barre. A native from Houston, Texas who began dancing at the age of 13, Jose bring his extensive training in jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, modern, ballet, and auxiliary to his students. He has performed and competed for four years with his title winning high school colorguard and drill team. Later, joining a nationally awarded dance troupe that competed in the Houston and Dallas area. Jose is currently in his third year at Texas A&M University where he studies Kinesiology with a concentration in Dance Science. Very active in the dance program at A&M, Jose has been a part of numerous pieces that have been performed in Perpetual Motion, Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival, American College Dance Festival, and the The Fringe Festival. He hopes to continue his passion of dance and education by gaining a Masters in Dance, and pursuing a career within a collegiate dance program. However prior plans to expand his experience as a performer, and become a part of a contemporary dance company. Having a strong philosophy for healthy and educated dancers, Jose plans to bring his knowledge to Pure Energy Productions and be apart of the creation of skilled and passionate dancers.

Hannah Shihdanian recently moved to BCS from Boston, MA!  Hannah graduated from the University of Vermont in 2010 with a BA in Theatre Performance.  At UVM she was the captain of the Catamount Dance Crew and upon graduation, studied Commedia dell'arte in Italy.  From 2012-2018 she performed in a Principal Role/Dance Captain in the American Repertory Theater's The Donkey Show, under the direction of Diane Paulus (Broadway: WaitressPippinFinding Neverland, Hair...).  She also performed in Acoustica Electronica, (a club theatre experience presented by the ToUch Performance Art and the A.R.T.) in both the Boston and NYC casts.  Other professional companies include Reagle Music Theatre, Greater Boston Stage Company, Hackmatack Playhouse, and Turtle Lane Playhouse.  Hannah was the Resident Teaching Artist for the non-profit, Wellesley Theatre Project (2012-2017) and she also choreographed for colleges and non-equity theatres around the Boston area.  

Hannah is licensed in Zumba and loves teaching group fitness!  A Mom of two, she believes that dance and fitness are the ultimate stress relievers and she loves motivating people of all abilities to maintain a healthy lifestyle!  She is thrilled to be a part of The Dance Barre and to share her passion with it's community!  

Julia Motekaitis really began to realize her love of movement in adulthood. After taking classes for five years, she trained to become a group fitness instructor at Aggieland Fitness Dome and Gold's Gym and has been teaching for three years. She is passionate about bringing health, purpose, joy, strength and life into our bodies with her teaching, and believes that movement brings us a fun, connecting and healing outlet. With a focus in pilates, Julia believes in the power of a strong core! 

She is a Floridian transplant to Texas, and met her sweet husband, a College Station native, at Sam Houston State University. When not volunteering, cooking and driving around her three musical and creative school-aged sons, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, time with her husband, family and friends!
